【鮮食釋疑】豬肉能吃嗎？
常常在動物網站上看到轉貼的狗狗飲食禁忌的文章這種好意的提醒真的是令人覺得非常窩心
不過，內容的真實性有多少，您可知道？
網友們又有多少人實際行動去查證過？
那天整理電腦硬碟的舊資料，找到認識的獸醫給的...曾於三四年前寫信去給美國的獸醫專家
請教有關豬肉是否可給寵物食用的質疑.

我在另一網站上看見這段有關不宜餵食狗兒豬肉的一段話
豬肉（不利消化）
豬肉中的脂肪粒子比其他肉類的大，所以會阻塞狗的小血管。
這段話正確嗎？
豬肉是台灣民眾的主食肉類，牛肉和羊肉的食用較少，所以民眾常餵食狗兒白煮豬肉。
如果這段話無誤，我或許會開始告訴民眾不要再以豬肉餵食狗兒。 此外，令我不解的是為何沒有豬肉製成的飼料，是為了相同的原因嗎？
抑或豬肉飼料成本高於其他肉類？或別有他因？

I saw these describes from another website which is about pork that not suitable for dogs to eat.
Pork (Disagreeable)
The fat globules in pork are larger than the fat globules in other meats.Thus, they can clog the small blood vessels of a dog.
Is it correct about the pork description?
Pork is the main meat kind for people in Taiwan, vice versa; beef and mutton are less for eat.Therefore, people usually feed the dog somewhat pork which cooking by water without add any sauce.
If these describes which about pork are not benefit for dogs is correct,
I may start teaching others don¡¦t feed dogs pork at all.
In addition, I wonder why all the fodder don¡¦t made from pork, is for these same reason?
Or the reason is pork cost higher than other meat? Or for the other specially reason?

『在大自然中，狗所攝取的脂肪量沒有豬肉所含的多（順帶一提，人類也一樣），狗需要omega-3及omega-6 的必需脂肪酸，但豬肉所含很少，如果狗能攝取到足夠的必須脂肪酸，食用豬肉脂肪所帶來的問題便能解決，所以不餵食狗兒豬肉的想法是有其道理的；飼料中不含豬肉的原因是因為飼料中的蛋白質成份來自人類不食用的動物屍體，如雞腳、羽毛、雞嘴、雞頭，以及其他動物的類似部位，這種肉比豬肉便宜。』

Dear Dr. Chu,
First, my apologies for not responding more quickly to your email. I have passed your message along to Udo and these are his comments:
"In nature, dogs ate meat with less fat than pork contains (by the way, so did people). Dogs need omega 3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids and pork is a poor source. If dogs get the essential fatty acids they need, they overcome the problem caused by pork fats. Your idea not to feed dogs pork has merit. Dog foods don't contain pork because the protein comes from waste products like chicken feet, feathers, beaks and heads and also from other animal's similar body parts. Those kinds of meats are cheaper than pork."

我從未聽聞過你的這種說法，雖然曾有一些獸醫告訴我豬肉可能會『毒害』狗兒．．．
但只將少量豬肉併入狗兒飲食中時，我並沒有看到任何問題。

've never heard this about pork, although some vets have told me pork
can "poison" dogs...I've never seen this if small amounts of pork

事實上，除了絕對有害於貓狗的食物，怎麼吃的健康，吃的均衡，才是最重要的事情。
每天吃水煮雞胸肉，就沒問題了嗎？
答案當然是錯的，因為偏食了。雞肉雖然是很優秀的蛋白質來源，
要維持健康的身體，蛋白質可不是唯一的營養。油脂、醣類、維生素、微量元素.....都很重要。
但換個角度講，水煮雞胸肉當然又比每天給狗吃炸雞排、雞腿便當健康的多。
希望看完這段落落長的內容，能讓大家對於狗狗飲食禁忌中所謂的 "豬肉不能吃" 一說有所改觀。
